NB: This is a mockup for the text to be distributed in a flier to prospective Informatics students during the 2007 Open Day.

The Tardis Project is a student-run Unix computing service hosted by the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh - we maintain a number of Sun and PC machines, running a mixture of Debian Linux and Solaris. Accounts are created on request, free of charge, for any student of the University. We currently support a large number of users and provide facilities for various university societies.

Whether you are a newcomer to the world of Unix system administration, or you have previous experience, Tardis provides excellent opportunities for learning and experimentation. Tardis is a production environment with real users, enterprise hardware and an architecture typical of an established corporate Unix system.
